For all your bookings, referrals, and kind emails to say hello and update me on your lovely families and children I am truly grateful! I LOVE what I do and am so thankful to all of you who allow me to do what I love best. I am honored you have trusted me to capture those special times in your lives…and I so look forward to seeing many of you who have already booked for this new year. I have a new program in place exclusive to previous clients, I will be letting those of you already booked know about it soon and if you are a past client and thinking about booking this year feel free to email me for more information.

Banff 2010….
In June, I will be teaching a maternity and newborn class at a photographers convention in Banff. I will be covering posing, lighting, marketing and lots of other information. The convention runs from the 3rd of June to the 6th. It promises to be an educational but fun filled 4 days. The convention is being held at the Rimrock Resort, one of my favorite places in Banff! The other speakers lined up are : Richard and Amy of Redleaf Studios who will be speaking on marketing, finding inspiration, the art of photography, old masters, lighting techniques, histogram, working with couples, posing, connection and video light setup. Classroom and Shooting time will be included; Alisha Robertson who’s natural light newborn work is divine will also be giving a newborn seminar, Ali Hohn will be covering off camera flash (which she rocks at
), including a night shoot, and also the incredibly inspiring Stace Chomlack will be speaking about reinstating the vision in your business. Registration is not open to the general public yet but I will make an announcement when it is.
***PLEASE NOTE : I am going to be looking for maternity and newborn models for those dates. I would like to have 2 or 3 maternity models available as well as 2 or 3 newborn models available. If you are interested in being a maternity model and you are going to be between 30 and 34 weeks at the beginning of June please contact me for more information. If you have a baby due at the end of May and are interested in modeling with your baby email me for more information. I am scouting models for both myself and Alisha. So if you know someone in the Banff/Canmore area or in Calgary and willing to travel who may be interested please pass this info on to them.
DOWN UNDER 2010 here I come…….
I will also be traveling abroad in November. I have been asked to teach at a conference being held in Sydney. I have never been to Australia so I am really excited to say the least. I will be teaching a maternity and newborn seminar. Two of the worlds top wedding photographers Steve and Jen Bebb will also be speaking. They are renowned for their style, creativity and innovation within the photographic community. This will be a mini Bebbinar and I know quite a few people who have learned from the Bebbs and all I hear is how exceptional they are at teaching what they know! The amazing team from Tricoast Photography will also be teaching as well as demonstrating their off camera lighting techniques which they are so well know for.
The conference is being held at the Sebel Pier One Hotel in downtown Sydney Rocks area. It is right underneath the pillars of the Harbor Bridge, across from both Lunar Park and the Sydney Opera House….how AMAZING will that be!!
Registration is now open to the general public although I think there are only a few spots left. You can get more information on the conference on the Beyond Blog.
Whew…..ok so is it not going to be a great year or what??
I also wanted to mention to the expecting and new moms out there who follow my blog to make sure you pick up a copy of the Winter issue of Birthing Magazine. It is filled with a lot of really great articles and stories and this issue in particular features a 4 page pull out spread on the top 7 exercises for before and after baby… featuring images taken by me. I was very flattered when I was asked to do this shoot and even more so when they chose one of the images for the cover as well. We did the shoot later in the evening and when baby Sarah arrived she was tired and not too impressed with us….I tell you I have never seen a baby perform like this..we set her down in front of the camera and you can see below what we got. She did this throughout the whole session, she is a natural! Thanks to mom Ilene and maternity model Cynthia as well. Thanks also to the art director Melissa Kimbell, Editor in chief Karen Crowdis and Kim Magotiaux of Bellies Babies and Beyond for all the organizing and direction. It was a lot of fun to spend the evening with you all.
The magazine can be downloaded online at Birthing Online which is also has a lot of great info and resources. Download or pick up a copy, I promise you will enjoy the read…and as extra incentive, if you bring in my full page baby art ad from this issue you will receive a complimentary 8×10 with your session.

Those looking to book a session in the New Year please contact me ASAP to reserve a date, I have limited sessions left between now and April. Please visit my baby art website for more information about sessions and pricing.
